Commercial Work.

Balliol College, Oxford.

It is a great pleasure to recommend Ian Taylor whom I have known and worked with for 14 years. He has undertaken jobs for Balliol under my close direction many times since 1999, including numerous subjects which were very difficult by their nature (e.g. polished silver objects, pictures) or in extrmemly awkward positions (e.g. chapel memorials). The fact that I have engaged him regularly over so many years speaks for itself. His work is excellent, his professional charges are very reasonable and he is also very easy and pleasant to work with. Colleagues in teh Balliol Development Office have also used him regularly to record social gatherings and so on.

Dr J Jones, MA, DPhil, FRHistS, Emeritus Fellow Archivist of Balliol (Dean 1972-2002, Fellow Archivist 1980-2009).

“Balliol has used Ian’s services for the last ten years, and he has never disappointed us.  He is professional, inventive and courteous; he immediately puts people at ease with his ready smile.  His photos for the College have been used online, in publications, fundraising literature and as greetings cards.  He is a very versatile photographer, whether it be individual portraits, landscape shots or groupings of people at events– both adults and children.”

Somerville College, Oxford.

“I’ve always really enjoyed working with Ian. He takes great photographs, is very professional and always happy to take on a new challenge, whether it is just really horrible lighting, or climbing to the top of a chapel roof. Ian is great with people and I’ve always found that he really helps people relax when he’s photographing them. He is also incredibly versatile and produces great work whether he’s photographing buildings, people, or uncooperative toddlers.”

Antoinette Finnegan, Development Officer.

Nursery & Pre-School work.

  • Ian Taylor has taken and produced some excellent candid photographs of the children in the nursery. Whilst taking the photographs Ian was unobtrusive and did not disturb the routine of the nursery. The parents were extremely pleased with the results and ordered a substantial number of prints. The nursery itself made a profit too. I have no hesitation in recommending Ian. Vicki King, The House at Pooh Corner.
  • “Here comes the photographer man – he’s fantastical!”  4 year old at Middle Barton Pre-School.

  • My husband and I have been poring over your lovely photos taken of our son at Steeple Aston Pre-School recently… and naturally we have a dilemma about which ones to choose! We are also planning to order another couple of 5x7s for ourselves, as they are too gorgeous not to have!  Parent of child at Steeple Aston Pre-School.
  • Also, just wanted to say how impressed I was with the photos this year – it was so hard to choose from so many nice shots but the one we settled on and had printed were lovely – great photographer!  Parent of child at Filkins Nursery.
  • Many thanks for the excellent service you have provided during my time here. It has always been a pleasure doing business with you and I have always enjoyed seeing the parents reactions to the beautiful photographs you produce.
